Lakeland, FL (June 14, 2017 Explorations V Children’s Museum in Lakeland, Florida seeks an Executive Director with the vision and ability to lead and guide its growth. In partnership with an engaged Board of Directors, the
Executive Director will follow a strategic plan including but not limited to: conceiving annual permanent and special exhibitions; protecting the Museum’s four-story historic building, contents and cultural exhibits based in the arts and sciences; overseeing interactive cultural education, outreach programs and special events; implementing fundraising strategies to increase revenue streams; and securing the Museum’s position as THE MUST-SEE, hands-on, and fun-filled cultural destination in Central Florida.
The Executive Director will serve as chief spokesperson and advocate for the Museum in the broader community, while generating public interest and participation from a wide and diverse range of constituents through special events, board fundraisers and grants. In addition, the Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing, managing and inspiring a staff of 19+ professionals as well as volunteer groups.
