TAMPA ORATORIO SINGERS NOW SCHEDULING AUDITIONS FOR 50th ANNIVERSARY SEASON
If you love classical music, there may just be a seat for you in a group that has become a Tampa tradition.
The Tampa Oratorio Singers, Tampa’s community concert chorus, is now scheduling auditions for the 2017-18 season.
The chorus is comprised of adult singers from all walks of life. Highlights of the coming season include a November 5 performance of Schubert’s “Mass No. 6 in E Flat”, Handel’s “Messiah” in December and the Brahms ”Requiem” on March 25. The golden anniversary gala concert scheduled in April will highlight classical repertoire that has built the musical legacy of the chorus.
Rehearsals begin in late August and are held on Monday evenings at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, 3501 San Jose Street, Tampa. Chorus members pay annual dues and purchase their own music. Singers participate in weekly rehearsals, with some additional rehearsal time as concert dates near.
Chorus auditions are held by appointment August 8-28. Contact Music Director Nancy Callahan at Callahan@palmaceia.org. Singers should prepare a short piece. An accompanist will be available.
