St. Petersburg, Fla. (July 24, 2017) – The Duke Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg announced today that nationally acclaimed magician, actor and improv artist Michael Carbonaro will appear in St. Pete on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 7:00 pm. The New York Times calls his unique blend of magic and bizarre antics, “genial and witty…utterly convincing.”
Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts members may purchase tickets starting at noon today. Tickets may be purchased online at TheMahaffey.com, charged by phone at 727.893.7832, or in person at the Mahaffey Theater Box Office.
Michael Carbonaro has performed over 500 comically perplexing and improbable feats of magic on his hit truTV series, “The Carbonaro Effect” now in its second season. The St. Pete show will be jam-packed with audience interaction, hilarious video clips, and a whirlwind of mind-blowing magic performed live on stage.
As an actor, Carbonaro has appeared in recurring roles on TV including “Happily Divorced,” “The Newsroom,” “30 Rock,” “How to Make it in America,” “The Wizards of Waverly Place” and “CSI Miami.” In 2006, he won OutFest’s Best Actor Award for his role in “Another Gay Movie” and was named “Magician of the Year” by the Academy of Magical Arts. He hosts and performs shows of comedy, magic and other bizarre acts at various clubs around the US, including the ever popular Joe’s Pub, Caroline’s on Broadway, The Box, and Hollywood’s Magic Castle.
