SARASOTA/BRADENTON, FL – Earlier this year, Goodwill Manasota signed an agreement with Reflection Software’s Cognition Learning Management System (LMS). The Cognition system is the engine that supports Goodwill Manasota’s Goodwill® University online campus. This system serves 800 learners at Goodwill Manasota and others at several other Goodwill campuses. With the new flat rate pricing, the organization is now able to reach its entire audience of almost 3,000 learners – nearly a 300% increase – who have been engaged with the LMS since going live on June 12 of this year.
Goodwill Manasota is a learning organization that supports the development of its workforce with thousands of hours of on-the-clock ongoing education and training. This is an investment that doesn’t just improve job performance – it enhances the employees’ personal development and feelings of self-worth.
“Team members tell me that they really feel like we’re a family here. They feel valued because we’re willing to spend time with them for their own benefit,” he said. “We help to elevate their skills, earning potential and confidence by making that human investment.”
Other Goodwills have the opportunity to set up a campus within Goodwill Manasota’s LMS that is branded for them or they can reach out to Reflection Software to establish their own LMS campus.
“Goodwill U’s platform is user-friendly with increased functionality, including the ability to add in your own training and a feature to email managers when employees have not completed their assigned trainings by the due date,” said Jen Lake, VP of People Resources with Goodwill of the Finger Lakes. “The new flat rate fee allows us to use it as an LMS for all employees. This is something we’ve wanted but could not afford on our own.”
Reflection Software’s Cognition system has eight workflows that focus on compliance, testing, e-learning, video, instructor-led training, on-the-job training/coaching, self-study, and talent development. The LMS tracks training, houses online training, create dynamic forms, capable of e-signatures, communication, and reports.
Goodwill Manasota’s online content, which is developed by its learning and development team, includes GoodwillWorks – Role Model Worker, functional position content for donated goods, leadership, compliance topics, safety, and foundational information used for onboarding new team members during new hire orientations. Other Goodwills may add their own content to meet the learning and development needs of their own organizations.
