Fisher Phillips Attorneys to Help Employers Comply With Equal Pay Act

July 16, 2017 by Post

Free July 25 webinar will explain the law and provide recommendations for compliance

TAMPA (July 14, 2017) – Employers today are dealing with more collective action lawsuits under the Equal Pay Act (EPA) than ever before. The EPA, which prohibits pay discrimination based on an employee’s sex, has been in the spotlight with the ongoing battle for pay equality in the halls and boardrooms of corporate America, as well as recent developments in Silicon Valley.

In order to minimize the risk of a potentially high-profile equal pay case, it is important for employers to fully understand the EPA and make sure their employee pay practices comply with the law.

Attorneys with the Tampa office of labor and employment law firm Fisher Phillips will help employers understand the EPA’s guidelines, and how to follow them, during a live webinar on Tuesday, July 25.

The webinar, titled “Doing a Man’s Job for a Woman’s Pay’ – The Equal Pay Act and Evolving Pay Equality Mandates,” is the fourth webinar in a bimonthly series called “What Every Employer Needs to Know.” The free series, led by labor and employment attorneys Theresa Gallion and Brett Owens, aims to highlight critical labor and employment law topics throughout the year.

Gallion is a founding partner of the firm’s Tampa and Orlando offices and has been practicing labor and employment law for 34 years. She is one of the firm’s most experienced trial lawyers. Gallion specializes in complex employment litigation and collective actions, representing clients in a wide variety of industries, including hospitality, healthcare, education, retail and telecommunications.

Owens is an associate in the Tampa office of Fisher Phillips. He specializes in cases involving employment discrimination and harassment, labor and employment litigation, litigation of employment disputes, jury trials and wrongful termination suits.

The July 25 webinar will run from noon to 1:15 p.m. To register, visit https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/2720427442399274498
