SARASOTA, FL – The Arts and Cultural Alliance of Sarasota County is proud to announce that the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners approved the recommendations for funding of the 2018 Tourist Development Cultural/Arts (TDC/A) Grant.
TDC/A grants come from a portion of the tourist development tax dollars. This money is designated to fund Sarasota County arts and cultural organizations to develop high quality programming that attracts tourists to our area. Grants are available to organizations with recognized ability to produce, present and promote cultural and arts activities that appeal to tourists.
We wish to congratulate all of our organizations who will receive funding and thank the Board of County Commissioners for their support of arts and culture in Sarasota County.
“The Tourist Development grants are a crucial source of support for the arts and cultural organizations,” said Jim Shirley, Executive Director of the Arts and Cultural Alliance. “In return for this public support, they produce superior programming that drives cultural tourism for the region. It is a win/win use of the money and it is deeply appreciated by the entire cultural community.”
