Channelside’s Upcoming Development Changes Results in Thai Thani and Oishi Closing on July 31

July 10, 2017 by Post

TAMPA, FL – July 10, 2017 – Thai Thani and Oishi, located upstairs at Channelside Bay Plaza, plan to close on July 31, 2017 due to Channelside’s impending development changes. Opened in 2004 by Mathew Ong, both restaurants have been dedicated to providing classic Thai and Japanese cuisine in an authentic, yet modern, atmosphere. As of now, there are no plans to reopen.

“I’ve been extremely proud of both restaurants and the community we have created around both establishments” said Mathew Ong. The restaurants have been a favorite among Channelside residents and the downtown Tampa lunch crowd for over 14 years. “We have been able to meet so many great people in Tampa Bay and out of town guests. We will miss the interaction with everyone, but look forward to what lies ahead, and want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Tampa Bay community for supporting us throughout the years.”

Even though Thai Thani and Oishi may be closing, fans are encouraged to visit Ong’s sister restaurant, Asiatic Street Food + Noodle Bar in Ybor City.

“While Asiatic’s concept is geared more towards casual dining, we are still dedicated to offer authentic, fresh and fast Thai food.” states Ong. “We hope that while we will not be located in Channelside anymore, all of our friends will join us in Ybor just as often.”

Stay tuned to Thai Thani, Oishi and Asiatic’s social media handles for updates on any new developments concerning all three restaurants, or new concepts that might open.
