SARASOTA, Fla. — MBJ Group (MBJGroup.com), a talent management company, is spearheading the search for a vice president of philanthropy for All-Star Children’s Foundation, an organization with the goal of providing state-of-the-art treatment for childhood trauma.
All-Star Children’s Foundation is currently seeking a passionate professional to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that will support a foster children’s trauma center in Sarasota.
As a key member of the senior staff, the vice president of philanthropy will have a pivotal role in creating the vision, raising funds and working to ensure continued support for the center. The position will work directly with co-founders Graci and Dennis McGillicuddy and Lucia Branton, the executive director.
The organization is building a state-of-the-art “Campus of Caring” that will include a center for trauma-focused clinical services and provide children, from infants to age 18. It will provide those who have been victimized by abuse with a nurturing, family-style home environment and comprehensive, trauma-sensitive treatment. Developed in collaboration with Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, this program will become the gold standard in healing childhood trauma and developing children’s skills necessary to build resiliency.
The beautiful 5-acre, neighborhood-style campus will initially serve 30 foster children in residence in phase 1. It will also serve children in the community’s child welfare system on an outpatient basis. In phase 2 of construction, All-Star Children’s Foundation will expand its campus to 10 homes, which will accommodate more than 60 children.
Minimum qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree, 7-10 years of development or related work experience and demonstrated success in marketing, communications and fundraising. Background in a for-profit or nonprofit environment in a staff position or volunteer leadership role and healthcare experience is also valuable.
Sarasota residents and co-owners Jim and Mary Beth Bos founded MBJ Group in 2000. The company focuses on four areas, including facilitating searches for nonprofit and for-profit organizations, working with professionals in career transition, utilizing career assessments to assist organizations in the hiring process and coaching senior-level executives.
