Please help us find a new space & keep us on the road!
Dear Tampa Bay Community,
We have to move again — this time the agency that has so graciously provided space to us for the past three years, MacDonald Training Center, is not closing but expanding and adding a new program that will require our entrance and space.
When we moved to this location from the Family Justice Center three years ago we had to make the move in just 30 days and didn’t know where we would go. Jim Freyvogel, then the CEO of MTC and a friend called me and said he had warehouse space we might be able to use although it might be considered a weird configuration. Well the space worked out perfectly for us, not only giving us our own entrance where we could come and go whenever we liked (we often work on Saturdays and evenings) but it brought us to the Westshore area that we love and is convenient to our applicants since it is on the bus line.
We now have three (3) months to find a suitable location to move our offices to. While we are in the process of starting the search to find our own location to set up our own repair facility that would also be open to the public as a social enterprise and house our corporate offices, we don’t expect that to happen for at least a year, possibly longer, so we will need space for at least a year for our offices at a very low cost as this move was unexpected and is not in our current budget.
If anyone knows of someone wanting a great tax deduction for donating space to us or has space with reasonable rent, can you please have them get in touch with me? Since we have been in operation, our space has always been found by word of mouth and we are hoping someone will know someone again. We have to be out of our offices by October 1st but have already found a mover willing to donate their services thanks to one of our Board members.
