New Port Richey, FL (July 6, 2017) – Saturday, July 22, The Shawn Brown Band will perform at Sims Park (6431 Bank Street) from 7-8:30pm.
Presented by The City of New Port Richey Parks and Recreation, The last of the Summer Concert Series will be July 22nd from 7-8:30PM featuring the Shawn Brown Band. “Shawn began playing the piano at the young age of 3 years old and then became the organist, accompanying his mother for their church at 8 years old, which began his musical journey. Through his Dear Sir or Madam,adolescent years he continued to play at his church until he moved to Tampa Florida.”
Shawn then began a career with multiple national entertainers, such as Percy Sledge, Al Green, Earth Wind and Fire, Clarence Carter, Little Milton, Rudy Raymore (Dolamite) , BB King, Keith Sweat, Roger and Zapp, Stephanie Mills, Alexander O’Neil, Eddy Money, and only to name a few. Shawn is also known as one of the top Hammond organ players in the jazz community. He was featured in the 2013 Killer B3 Movie. He is planning his inspirational CD for early next year and until then you can find Shawn still playing with the same passion and humility wherever his is guided!
The City of New Port Richey Parks and Recreation is proud to again present the Summer Sunset Concert Series bringing music lovers of all ages to the downtown’s focal point, beautiful Sims Park, to enjoy a free concert in an outdoor setting. These concerts are presented without cost to the audience so bring the entire extended family, chairs, blankets and be ready for a musical good time! Snacks will be available for sale from local businesses and everyone is encouraged to visit the New Port Richey downtown restaurants and shops before the concert starts!
