ST. PETERSBURG, FL (June 22, 2017) –
On Wednesday, June 28 at 9:00 a.m., City of St. Petersburg leaders, citizens, and members of the Pier design will break ground on the new St. Petersburg Pier and Pier District. The event will take place on the north side of the Pier Approach, in front of Spa Beach.

City Council Chair Darden Rice
Chris Ballestra, City Managing Director, Development
Vince Lee, Pier Project Designer
Steve Urgo, St. Petersburg citizen and supporter of the new St. Pete Pier
Betsy Johnson, a St. Pete area teen, who has been following the Pier Project from the beginning, will be also present to talk about the impact the new pier will have on the community and the next generation.
In case of inclement weather, the groundbreaking ceremony will be moved to the St. Petersburg Museum of History.
