Families recently enjoyed a morning of discovery and learning at Bay Preserve, as they waded in the grass flats with dip nets and discovered what thrives in Little Sarasota Bay, the nursery of the gulf. The kids also got to observe, touch and learn about fiddler crabs, and played a vigorous osprey game that taught them how these birds gather fish for their young. Hosted by Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast in collaboration with Around the Bend Nature Tours, 2 Feet Under the Bay gave young explorers plenty of opportunity to connect to nature.
Around the Bend provides nature experiences for schools and families at parks and preserves in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. Around the Bend tells the stories of the land, and the science of sustainability, in order to instill the sense of natural Florida as home.
