Lakeland, FL (June 13, 2017) Every year the local non-profit children’s museum, Explorations V, has their fundraiser, Night At The Museum. Not only is this a night filled with music, food, dancing, and laughter, but it is for a great cause as well. The money raised from Night at the Museum helps fund many of the museum’s programs geared towards teaching youth as well as providing general operating support for the museum. This year, Explorations V’s board members decided to spice things up and created a Great Gatsby themed event. With everyone dressed in feathers and beads, guests of the fundraiser danced the night away as they bid on items at the silent auction!
Between daily programs, scholarships for underserved children, and outreach programs, Explorations V Children’s Museum aims to provide a hands-on learning experience for everyone. There have been many success stories of children who were given the opportunity to learn and grow thanks to Museum programs. From daily programs such as Book Buddies to Music Makers, the Museum touches on every aspect of learning. A NEW program just beginning is Talking Hands. Talking Hands occurs every Thursday at 9:30 am and teaches American Sign Language to kids and parents as well!
None of this could be possible without the generous donations from the museums many sponsors. Major Sponsors of this year’s Night At The Museum include BB&T, The Blanton Foundation, and Publix Super Markets, Inc. There were many other sponsors as well and all are crucial to the museum’s success.
