Carlton Fields’ White Collar Crime & Government Investigations Practice Ranked No. 1 Nationally by Chambers Guide

Tampa, Fla. – June 13, 2017 – Carlton Fields in pleased to announce that its White Collar Crime and Government Investigations practice was ranked No. 1 nationally for the 10th consecutive year in the 2017 Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers. Chambers also named Carlton Fields white collar crime attorneys — Adam P. Schwartz and Michael S. Pasano — as leading lawyers in the Guide.

The firm’s White Collar Crime and Government Investigations practice group handles all aspects of criminal defense representation and civil cases involving allegations of criminal conduct or similar wrongdoing. Its attorneys have expertise in the areas of business, tax and securities frauds; trade secret theft; money laundering; Medicare and Medicaid frauds; bank fraud; forfeiture matters; and immigration crimes. Collectively, they have tried more than 1,000 criminal cases to judgment in bench trials, more than 1,200 criminal cases to jury verdict, and have handled more than 475 criminal appeals. Schwartz chairs Carlton Fields’ White Collar Crime and Government Investigations practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Schwartz prosecuted money laundering and asset forfeiture matters as an Assistant U.S. Attorney with Eastern District of New York.

Pasano worked for seven years in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Washington, D.C., and the Southern District of Florida, where he was a member of the major crimes, public corruption, and fraud units, and where he served as Chief of the Broward and West Palm Beach satellite offices. In March 1983, he became chief of the Miami Fraud Section, and in October of that year was named chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach offices.
