Three New Additions to The Mahaffey’s Lineup

St. Petersburg, Fla. (June 12, 2017) – The Duke Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater in downtown St. Pete announces three new performances for the 2017/2018 entertainment calendar. Tickets go on sale for all three shows to the public Friday, June 16 at 10 a.m. The diverse entertainment options will appeal to all ages. Tickets may be purchased online at themahaffey.com, charge by phone at 727.893.7832 or in person at The Mahaffey Theater Box Office.
AN EVENING WITH BRUCE HORNSBY

A beloved three time Grammy award-winner is coming to town and offers An Evening with Bruce Hornsby. The singer, pianist, composer, bandleader and keyboardist will appear Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Fans will enjoy classical, jazz, bluegrass, folk, Motown, gospel, rock, blues, and jam band musical traditions. Rock out to “The Way It Is” from his 1986 debut album and one of the most popular songs of that decade. He is known for his intense collaborations with the Grateful Dead, Spike Lee, Ricky Skaggs, Don Henley, Ornette Coleman, Bob Dylan, Bela Fleck, Bonnie Raitt, Pat Metheny, and Robbie Robertson. Rolling Stone once said he defined “the sound of grace on the radio.” He received the Grammy for Best New Artist with Bruce Hornsby and the Range, the 1990 Grammy award for Best Bluegrass Album, and the 1994 Grammy award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.

THE ORIGINAL STARS FROM AMERICAN BANDSTANDfeaturing Shirley Alston Reeves, The Chiffons, Chris Montez, Brian Hyland and Merrilee Rush

On Friday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m., fans of the top hits from the ’50s and ’60s will enjoy the voices that defined a generation. The original stars from American Bandstand featuring Shirley Alston Reeves, The Chiffons, Chris Montez, Brian Hyland and Merrilee Rush are coming to town. The top talent from yesterday is bringing a generation’s greatest songs to St. Pete. The iconic Dick Clark said the event is “truly a magical rock ‘n roll night to remember.” Sing along to top ten hits and top 40 records from the past like “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” “Sealed with a Kiss,” “One Fine Day,” “Let’s Dance,” “MaMa Said,” “Angel of the Morning,” He’s So Fine,” “Sweet Talkin’ Guy,” “The More I see You.”

WILD KRATTS LIVE!

Always a sellout, kids love WILD KRATTS – LIVE!, coming back by popular demand to St. Pete Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 6:30 p.m. The theatrical stage show is based on the #1 animated television series by the same name. Stars Martin and Chris Kratt engage the audience in a classic Wild Kratts story. Families will experience the astounding “creature” fundamentals, and infectious excitement that makes the hit TV series Wild Kratts so popular with kids and their families. The audience is encouraged to participate from their seats by calling out answers to questions posed by the Kratt Brothers during the show.

The Mahaffey Theater
