The Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) recently received a full five-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) for its surgical technology technical credit program.
“I am so pleased that we met initial accreditation standards for our program at the Porter Campus in Wesley Chapel,” said Dean of Nursing and Health Programs Billie Gabbard, MSN, RN.
The peer review conducted by the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA) and CAAHEP’s Board of Directors recognizes the PHSC program’s substantial compliance with nationally established accreditation standards.
“Receiving this accreditation is a major milestone for our program and assures students, graduates and employers that PHSC offers a clearly defined, comprehensive curriculum that meets education and quality standards in the surgical technology field,” said Gabbard.
