June 6, 2017 by Post

Special display kicks off the holiday celebration on July 1

SARASOTA, FL– (June xx) – SANCA jump starts the holiday weekend on Saturday, July 1 with a fun-filled evening featuring games, family fun and spectacular fireworks. Grab your family and friends, a blanket or chair and head over to Regatta Island at Nathan Benderson Park for the first annual Fourth of July holiday celebration at the park.

“SANCA is pleased to offer the community this wonderful family night out,” said Robert J. Sullivan, president and CEO of SANCA. “We always enjoy welcoming the community to Nathan Benderson Park and hope families from all over the area will come out for this special evening of fun and holiday fireworks display. We hope to make this a yearly tradition for the community.”

The gates open at 4:30 pm, admission is free and parking is five dollars on Regatta Island.  Families are encouraged to come early for games, music and fun. On-the-water equipment rentals such as kayaks and paddleboards will be available from 5 – 7 p.m. Guests are welcome to bring their own food, beverages (no glass containers of any kind) and water equipment to enjoy paddling on the lake.

While Nathan Benderson Park is dog friendly, it is not recommended to bring dogs to this event as they will not be allowed on Regatta Island for safety reasons.
