Three New Additions To The Mahaffey Theater’s 2018 Entertainment Offerings Announced

St. Petersburg, Fla. (June 5, 2017) – The Duke Energy Center for the Arts – Mahaffey Theater in downtown St. Pete announces three new performances for the Winter 2017/2018 entertainment calendar. Tickets for all three shows go on sale to the public Friday, June 9 at 10 a.m. for fans of comedy, dance and music. Bill Edwards Foundation for the Arts members can purchase tickets starting at noon today. Tickets may be purchased online at themahaffey.com, charge by phone at 727.893.7832 or in person at The Mahaffey Theater Box Office. All three new performances will take place at the Palladium Theater located at 253 5th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.

 

TANGO FIRE

Experience the passion of a late night in Buenos Aires as the art of the Argentine Tango dance unfolds with Tango Fire at the Palladium Theater. Dancing that sizzles with sensuality is accompanied by the unforgettable music and song of the great Tango masters on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at 7:30 p.m. International Tango superstar German Cornejo’s dance troupe The Tango Fire Company of Buenos Aires is a global phenomenon and the world’s leading Tango company.

Tango Fire consistently sells out performances across the globe and the extraordinary choreography has captured the world’s imagination. As one of the world’s most popular dance forms, this exhilarating show combines the rawness and sophistication, seductive and sultry side of Tango. The cast includes World Tango Champions from the greatest Tango houses in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Tango Fire Company of Buenos Aires was conceived in 2005, allowing five couples creative freedom to showcase their individual styles.

MUSICAL THRONES: A PARODY

Fans of the most talked about show on television can get their fantasy fix with the hilarious send-up MUSICAL THRONES: A Parody at The Palladium Theater on Saturday, Jan. 20 at 8 p.m. Composed by the hysterical mad men behind the long-running SILENCE! THE MUSICAL, Jon and Al Kaplan, the show brings your most beloved and be-hated characters to life as fans journey through all six seasons of the Emmy award-winning Game of Thrones series. Sing and dance along with Daenerys and her dragons, Tyrion, Joffrey and all the jolly members of the Lannister and Stark families in this love letter to fans. You will be transported to Thrones’ magical locations where musical theater comics leave no joke unturned. This show is preparing for battle so saddle up and come on down to King’s Landing – and hold onto your swords.

ABBA MANIA

Sing along to all your favs with uplifting music brought to you by ABBA MANIA coming to St. Pete and the Palladium Theater on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m.  ABBA MANIA is known as the world’s number one touring ABBA production. During this special concert presentation fans can relieve those special memories when ABBA ruled the airwaves. ABBA MANIA brings ABBA fans old and new a night not to be missed. The Mahaffey Theater
