Tampa, Fla. – May 31, 2017 – Ignite! Tampa Bay is a high-energy evening designed to inspire, educate, entertain and spark new ideas and conversations across cultures and disciples of the Tampa Bay Community. Through fast-paced, bite-sized presentations community members get on stage and share their personal or professional passion. It’s a great opportunity to meet smart, interesting people (if we do say so ourselves) and maybe even learn something.
Presenters have five minutes and 20 slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds. At Ignite! Tampa community members involved in technology, arts, communications, education, non-profit, the government sector and more will take the stage to answer this challenge.
The first round of speakers for this year’s Ignite! Tampa event have been selected. This year’s event will include:
• Chris Paradies – Smart Innovation: What Can Government Learn from Startups?
• Ashley Grant – It’s your fault if your job is sucking the life out of you!
• Peter Radizeski – 5 Tips for a Little More Happy
• Karla Campos – Encouraging Women in Tech
• Roberto Torres & Daniel James Scott – Reclaiming Florida Man
• Dr. Michael Crosby – The Coral Lazarus Effect
Ignite is about creating an atmosphere that allows everyone the opportunity to be a rock star for five minutes. We have a group of outstanding presenters selected in our first round and there will be 15 more to come for our ninth annual Ignite! “This is a testament to the quality and diversity in the Tampa Bay community. It’s a fun and inexpensive evening out and a chance to engage with others in the community who are passionate about issues impacting our lives” says Joy Randels, one of the organizers for the event.
The ninth annual event will be held on June 29th at in the Theater of the Historic Cuba Club in Ybor City. Join the Tampa Bay Community fun and enlightening evening complete with drinks including local craft beer and snacks. The presentations are meant to “ignite” the audience on a subject, that is, to stimulate thought and action on the topics presented. The first Ignite! took place in Seattle in 2006, and since then the event has become an international phenomenon.
The event will be held in the historical Cuban Club Theatre in Ybor City. Speaker submissions opened on April 28th and the deadline to submit an application is June 7th, forms and complete information are available at Ignite Tampa Bay.
Ignite Tampa Bay Tickets are available here and going fast. Be sure to join the meetup group at: http://www.meetup.com/IgniteTampaBay/ for updates on the event and let everyone you’re going!
