Summer Learning Program returns to county libraries June 1

May 22, 2017 by Post

SARASOTA COUNTY – Celebrate reading and beat the heat at Sarasota County libraries with the return of the Summer Learning Program, starting June 1.
A full schedule of free events will be available at county libraries. These programs, aimed at children, teens and adults, were designed to stimulate imaginations, encourage creativity and support continued learning.
“I’m so proud of our Summer Learning Program, because it keeps kids, teens and adults engaged in learning during the summer months,” said Sarasota County Libraries Director Sarabeth Kalajian. “Thanks to the generosity of our many Friends of the Library partners, we’re able to offer these fun and educational programs all summer long. By engaging in reading activities, students maintain or increase skills, and are ready to continue learning once they return to school.”
The Summer Learning Program runs through Aug. 5. Participants can also win prizes by logging their progress throughout the summer. Some of the programs require registration.
