VENICE, Fla. — Venice-based construction company, J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. (JECharlotte.com), recently broke ground on the Pinkerton Wealth Management Group’s retail and office building in downtown Venice.
A groundbreaking ceremony took place on Monday, May 8 to celebrate the addition to the Venice Main Street district. The 10,000-square-foot two-story building will hold the future headquarters for Pinkerton Wealth Management Group of Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network. The building will house four retail suites on the ground level, and the second floor will feature professional office space.
“The City of Venice is pleased that Mr. Pinkerton selected a location within our historic downtown area for the new Pinkerton Wealth Management Group location,” said Venice Mayor John Holic. “The design of the new building will complement the original design characteristics of our city with the quality of modern construction materials. Having a highly regarded investment team like the Pinkerton team is a cherished asset for our community.”
Designed by Beebe Design Studio Architects, the building will blend well with the city’s Mediterranean revival style and the historical elements of the existing buildings. The future headquarters is located between the Bank of America building and the U.S. Post Office. The building is slated for completion in January 2018.
“It’s very meaningful to me for this building to be going up in downtown Venice – very close to the place where my father used to work,” said Scott Pinkerton, the managing partner of Pinkerton Wealth Management Group. “This will be a great asset to Venice, and it’s a project that we can patron and be really be proud of.”
Venice Council Members Robert Daniels, Jeanette Gates and Kit McKeon and Sarasota County Commissioners Alan Maio and Mike Moran were in attendance. The crowd heard briefly from Pinkerton, Mayor Holic, Commissioner Maio and Jeff Charlotte, president of J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp.
