Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) students Jeff Haney and Michaela DiPerna were awarded gold medals at the SkillsUSA state competition, advancing them to the national SkillsUSA competition to be held at the 53rd annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) from June 18-24, 2017 in Louisville, Ky. The NLSC is a showcase of career and technical education students representing 52 state and territorial associations. Haney will compete in the Computer Programming category and DiPerna will compete in Related Technical Math.
PHSC student Marnie Banks was awarded the silver medal, having placed second in the state competition in the Related Technical Math category; Karen Becker was awarded the bronze medal, having placed third in the state competition in the Job Interview category; and Nancy Haney placed third in the Extemporaneous Speaking category for a bronze medal.
