LITHIA, Fla. – The 20th Annual FishHawk Ranch Road Race provided more than $20,000 in donations to schools in the area, as well as a deserving scholarship recipient.

FishHawk Ranch is owned in a joint venture partnership between NORTH AMERICA SEKISUI HOUSE, LLC (NASH), the U.S. business unit and full subsidiary of SEKISUI HOUSE, LTD., Japan’s largest homebuilder and leading diversified developer, and Newland Real Estate Group, LLC, whose development business, Newland Communities, is the master developer of the community. It is one of more than 30 communities the NASH-Newland partnership owns together in 11 states across the United States.

Newland Communities’ Lynda McMorrow recently awarded the principals of Bevis Elementary School, Stowers Elementary, FishHawk Creek Elementary, Randall Middle, Barrington Middle and Newsome High a check for more than $3,000 each. The FishHawk Road Runners, which helped organize the event, also received an $1,500 contribution for its scholarship fund.
“We’re so pleased to celebrate the 20th year of this annual event with such a substantial donation,” said Pam Parisi, Vice President of Marketing for Newland Communities. “Our local schools are an integral part of the FishHawk Ranch Community and we’re happy to give back and show our continued support.”

More than 500 runners of all skill levels entered this year’s 5k and kid’s races, which included both a half-mile and one-mile run/walk. Hundreds of residents also turned out to cheer on the runners as they raced throughout the FishHawk Ranch community.
