These programs offer area women opportunities to navigate life transitions, discover new skill sets, explore effective communicating, and meet new people.
(Sarasota-Manatee, FL) The Women’s Resource Center is offering two new programs starting in May. “Get Connected” is an opportunity for people new to the area, empty nesters and women going through life transitions to meet new friends, learn new skills and explore the community. The Center’s newly revamped “Challenge” program teaches new skills for women to become better equipped to embrace and celebrate their life. According to Ashley Brown, president and CEO of the Women’s Resource Center, the “Get Connected” program, facilitated by Dr. Gaye Freedman, an author and life coach, is designed to help women “navigate transition, overcome obstacles, and focus on moving forward. We want to build a strong network of women and connect them to the surrounding community.” The program meets on Tuesdays, May 2-June 6, 5:30-6:30 p.m., at 1926 Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton. The “Challenge” program, facilitated by Dr. Ellen Akhavein, is divided into six units. The first two units are “Who Am I?” and “What is Causing Me Stress?” Topics covered in “Who Am I?” include navigating difficult relationships, handling challenging emotions, finding peace within, and creating a commitment to self-care of body and mind.
