During the month of March the Kiddy Up Ranch, an equine therapy program for children and veterans with disabilities, was the charitable organization of the month at the offices of Tax Collector Mike Fasano. This non-profit therapeutic ranch uses a nationally known and respected program called Horseboy to help children with a wide range of disabilities. Additionally, Kiddy Up Ranch treats veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and other conditions related to their military service.
“Kiddy Up Ranch is honored beyond measure to receive the donations from our community,” states Tammy Sliger, founder and CEO of Kiddy Up Ranch. “We were so humbled by the generosity of the community and Mike Fasano’s tax collector’s office and staff. We greatly rely on the support of our community to help see our mission through providing equine therapy for our special needs community as well as our veterans with PTSD. Kiddy Up Ranch would like to thank each and every person who gave of their time and treasure to help make this fund raiser even greater than the year before.”
The fundraising campaign brought in $10,726.24 through the hard work of the tax collector’s staff and the generous donations of a caring community. Some members of the tax collector’s staff visited Kiddy Up Ranch, toured the grounds and, most importantly, delivered the check for the funds raised.
“The Kiddy Up Ranch is one of those rare organizations that has the power to change lives forever,” states Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “Children with severe disabilities, veterans who come back from war with emotional issues, and others with their own unique needs all have the potential to find new meaning and/ or new physical and emotional skills due to the Ranch’s dedicated professionals and volunteers. The fact that the Ranch operates solely on the generosity of its donors is faith in action. I applaud Kiddy Up Ranch and those who work and volunteer there.”
