St. Petersburg’s official Earth Day Celebration features an impressive lineup of environmental programming, entertainment, food, & more in Florida’s first “green” city
(April 19, 2017 – Tampa, Fla.) – On Saturday, April 22nd, and Sunday, April 23rd, 2017, St. Pete-based environmental nonprofit Chart 411 and the City of St. Petersburg are coming together for a St. Pete Earth Day Celebration featuring Creative Loafing in Historic Williams Park (350 2nd Ave. N. in St. Pete).
It’s a full weekend of interactive exhibits, educational and recreational family-friendly activities, entertainment on the renowned Williams Park stage, opportunities to get involved in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable public policies, and much, much more.

This year’s St. Pete Earth Day Celebration creates an opportunity for attendees to learn about the challenges we face both locally and globally and how to help create a sustainable future for generations to come. Celebrating Earth Day in one of St. Pete’s most beautiful outdoor destinations is a fun, healthy, and interesting way for locals of all ages to have a great time while raising awareness about our fragile planet.
Saturday’s free St. Pete Earth Day festival on April 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., includes more than 150 exhibitors and vendors offering earth-friendly products in the shopping village; a Feeding Frenzy Food Zone featuring food vendors serving up food in low-impact packaging; music by local favorite Moon Mammoth, Trenchfoot Shindig, Jeff Blake, and more; and, of course, craft beer.

As the sun goes down on Saturday afternoon’s event, top-notch performers take the renowned Williams Park stage on Saturday, April 22nd, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., including performances by regional favorites John Clark Band, Boxcar Hollow, The Applebutter Express, Grandpa’s Cough Medicine, and Uncle John’s Band — lively music, good food, and cold beer in celebration of our earth.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. On Sunday, April 23rd, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the St. Pete Earth Day Celebration continues with Creative Loafing’s Veg Out! at St. Pete Earth Day. This free family-friendly event is slated to fill the park with healthy food alternatives, local vendors selling a variety of goods, complimentary group fitness demos, local craft beer, and more. Plus, on Sunday, April 23rd, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., attendees won’t want to miss Creative Loafing’s Veg Out! Bloody Mary Competition at St. Pete Earth Day where some of the area’s best restaurants get creative and put their Tito’s Handmade Vodka boozy breakfast recipes to the test. Attendees will get a unique opportunity sample their way around the best vegetarian-friendly Bloody Marys and vote on the most deserving of the title of “Best Vegetarian Bloody Mary.”
