SARASOTA, FL (April 18, 2017) – According to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a chronic and progressive movement disorder that affects nearly one million people in the US. With the cause unknown and no cure presently, it is often said those affected die with the disease, not from it. In honor of April’s Parkinson’s Awareness month, and in an effort to help those living with the disease, Bogati Urn Company will donate 10 percent of select items sold during April 2017 to a well-known national organization, The Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Founded in 2000, The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and improving therapies. With its complete focus on patient needs, the organization’s emphasis is on speed treatments that can slow, stop or reverse the disease’s progression; tackle currently unaddressed or under-addressed symptoms; and address or avoid the debilitating side effects of current Parkinson’s disease medication.
“We understand all too well that diseases like Parkinson’s don’t discriminate, so The Michael J. Fox Foundation’s aggressive mission and actions to quickly find a cure are a key reasons we chose them as our donation recipient for April,” said Andrea Bogard-LeBlanc, owner of Bogati Urn Company. “Death is a part of life, and when that happens we’re here to help. But it is also our goal to be there to support and celebrate the living through determined organizations like this.”
