SARASOTA, Fla. – Yellow Strawberry (YellowStrawberryHair.com), a boutique salon in Sarasota and Manatee counties, recently attended the prominent and exclusive Intercoiffure America/Canada Spring Atelier 2017 in Boca Raton, Fla.
During the three-day conference from April 1 – 3, Yellow Strawberry’s co-owners Desmond and Caroline Behan were joined by eight of the salon’s stylists. Young professionals Kelly Chiesa and Devon McLaughlin learned they placed second in the prestigious Intercoiffure America/Canada’s Nouveau Creative Cut, Color and Texture Contest.
The duo put their skills to the test in the organization’s creative cutting and color contest to showcase their talent among other young stylists on a national and international level. They transitioned fair-skinned Halle Olsen’s long hair from blonde to a dramatic red with a long bob and submitted the completed transformation in a photo shoot. Chiesa and McLaughlin won $750 to share towards Intercoiffure in October and the opportunity to help backstage at the next event.
“The Intercoiffure America/Canada conferences are always very educational for our stylists, learning from the industry’s foremost professionals,” said Caroline Behan, a co-owner of Yellow Strawberry. “We are so proud of our young talents, who placed second in this very tough competition. This was an amazing opportunity for them, and we were happy to share in the joy with them.”
The team was exposed to unique hands-on classes and business presentations taught by some of the top internationally and nationally known artists in the industry. Spring Atelier 2016’s featured classes spanned from the latest trends and techniques in hair color and cutting to the grooming boom for beauty professionals.
Intercoiffure America/Canada is the most powerful and influential organization in the hairdressing industry.
