(April 4, 2017, Tampa Bay, Florida) The Tampa Bay Heralds of Harmony Chorus announces two upcoming shows for their spring weekend concert event, Encore ’17, being held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 3:00pm at the USF School of Music and at the Palladium Theater St. Petersburg on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 3:00pm. For over 70 years the Tampa Chapter, part of the Barbershop Harmony Society, has been entertaining audiences across the globe. This event promises to be a great experience for the whole family with outstanding men’s A Capella Music including special performances from International Level Guests—Mighty Wind, the Easy Street—Current 5th Place Bronze International Seniors Quartet, Backstreet 4 and You Bet! Quartet.
A Capella, which utilizes no instruments and only vocal harmonies, can trace its American roots back to the 1700’s and has been present both in classic music and popular music in almost every decade since. “A Capella and Barbershop have very rich history’s and have seen a recent resurgence once again in pop culture as shows like Glee and the movie Pitch Perfect brought the art of vocal harmonizing to a new generation.” Says Matt Crisostomo, a founding member of the You Bet! Quartet.
Encore ’17 is a great opportunity to see the exciting lineup the group has put together as they prepare to head to this year’s International Competition in Las Vegas this July. All proceeds from Encore ‘17 will help fund their participation in the competition. “It’s an honor to help lead this award-winning group to another International Competition and we are honored to share with the Tampa Bay area the hard work the group has put in this season to get ready to once again put the Tampa Bay area on the map at competition” exclaims Tony De Rosa, Heralds Director.
Tickets can be reserved now for both shows by visiting www.heraldsofharmony.org/events with prices starting at only $25 each. Discounted group ticket packages are also available.
The Tampa Bay Heralds of Harmony Chorus and quartets seek to preserve and further develop the barbershop style of a cappella singing through musical excellence and through frequent public performances for the broadest possible spectrum of West Central Florida audiences, and to contribute to the cultural development of the community through responsible public service.
