BRADENTON, FL — Sky Stahlmann, an experienced local young artist, was recently accepted to the prestigious Berklee College of Music for the fall 2017 semester. This was a dream come true not only for her but for her entire family (Sky is the second of seven children). Thanks to help from a supportive community, facing the hefty Berklee price tag is a burden she doesn’t have to face alone.
Del Couch from the Del Couch Music Education Foundation was the first to step up and support the young artist. His foundation has generously agreed to front the campaign and raise money for her college tuition. So far, the foundation has made connections with the National Rotary Club, the Peterson Foundation and Berklee College of Music and plans to continue fundraising efforts through the summer.Sky’s impact on the community as an artist has inspired their support. During her eight years there she developed a strong bond with the company and became a cherished member of their Youth Opera Program. She also made a strong impression during her duel enrollment years at State College of Florida, landing lead roles in three shows during her two years there.The Suncoast Community has endowed her with several awards including
The Suncoast Community has endowed her with several awards including four time Florida Studio Theatre Young Playwright Festival Winner, Suncoast Artist Series Scholarship and the Bradenton Opera Guild Dean Allyn Award. Her voice as a songwriter has begun to attract the attention of her community, landing her a variety of gigs and an a recent appearance on the Suncoast View. Sky’s debut solo EP is expected to release this summer.
