St. Petersburg, FL (April 1, 2017) – The City of St. Petersburg unanimously awarded EndorFun Sports LLC to produce an annual Half Marathon running event the weekend of November 18-19, just before Thanksgiving 2017. The St. Pete Run Fest will be a two-day festival featuring the St. Pete Half Marathon, Sunshine City 5K, Kids Run, and Health & Fitness Market, which will include live music, local craft beer and food, artisans, and entertainers. The festival will draw thousands of runners and their families to downtown St. Pete, providing a significant economic boost for local businesses and charities.
The St. Pete Half Marathon will highlight all that is spectacular about St. Pete. The course begins on the waterfront next to the world-renowned Salvador Dali Museum, the then it heads up Central Avenue, with its unique shops and restaurants, past Tropicana Field (home of the MLB Tampa Bay Rays), and through the Grand Central, Edge and Warehouse Arts districts.
The Sunshine City 5K will feature St. Pete’s beautiful waterfront, and will be a fundraiser for the St. Petersburg Free Clinic (SPFC) Food Pantry. As part of their Miles for Meals program, Endorfun Sports LLC will donate $1 per mile run (up to $3 per runner) to the SPFC Food Pantry for all 5K participants. In partnership with the Healthy St. Pete initiative, the 5K will also be a vehicle to encourage the health and fitness of St. Pete residents.
It has been over three years since downtown St. Petersburg hosted a major running event. With its growth and increased global appeal, EndorFun Sports LLC is thrilled to bring the St. Pete Run Fest to life this November. EndorFun Sports was incorporated in 2002, with their company office in St. Petersburg, Florida. Over the last 15 years EndorFun has developed and produced world class events in New Hampshire and Texas, such as: lronman 70.3 Timberman (awarded “Best Large Triathlon in the U.S.” by USA Triathlon), Ironman 70.3 Austin, Big Lake Half-Marathon, and the Gritty Goddess Women’s SK Obstacle/Mud Run. These events have attracted more than 200,000 participants and earned Keith Jordan, CEO of EndorFun, “Race Director of the Year” by USA Triathlon New England.
