Tampa, Fla. – At its Gift of Gold Gala on Saturday, March 18, Hillel Academy Tampa broke a new fundraising record and far surpassed its goals, while attendees had an amazing time dining and dancing the night away.
Through sponsorships, donations and silent auction proceeds, Hillel Academy Tampa raised more than $100,000 at the Gala. Proceeds from the Gift of Gold Gala help fund scholarships, financial aid, teacher education and campus improvements.
More than 250 people attended the gala, which was held at the beautiful, brand new Glazer Jewish Community Center. Gala goers enjoyed delicious kosher hordeurves and a scrumptious kosher dinner, music, dancing, a silent auction and a photo booth. The new JCC was the perfect venue to hold this successful event. They also learned more about the school during a fascinating look back at the school’s history, told through photos and stories.
Rabbi Josh Hearshen of Rodeph Sholom ended the evening with the havdala experience and surprised everyone with a fun “rap.” “The Rappin’ Rabbi” closed out the evening with a bang.
The Gift of Gold Gala auction highlights included two beach property rentals, a Star Wars basket, jewelry, several outstanding dining experiences, Principal for a Day experience, and more.
