Author and editor Liz Coursen will speak to the Sarasota Fiction Writers on Tuesday, April 4, at 6 p.m. at Selby Library. She will present a fun and fast-paced editing workshop, “Write Right, Right NOW! An Advanced Editing Workshop for Authors.”
“All authors — whether they are self-published or traditionally published, whether they are publishing their first book or their fiftieth — need to be darned good editors,” Coursen said.
Coursen’s books include “Shade in the Sunshine State: Reflections on Segregation in Florida,” “Self-Editing for Today’s Business Owner” and the newly published “Write American! Business Writing in American English.”
Seven of Coursen’s 11 books are about American English punctuation and grammar. She will be sharing essential editing tips and tricks with at the Sarasota Fiction Writers meeting, including the “Top 10” editing mistakes that authors make “all the time.”
An experienced editor of award-winning fiction and nonfiction books, Liz will also discuss the No. 1 challenge every editor faces with every new manuscript.
