TAMPA, Fla., March 20, 2017 – More than 20 team members from Ultimate Medical Academy made a difference in their local community on Saturday, March 18, 2017 by participating in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Walk MS event at Al Lopez Park in Tampa.
“Our institution is committed to helping our community,” said Dan Soschin, the executive overseeing philanthropic initiatives at UMA, a nonprofit educational institution. “ “It was an honor to be involved with the powerful force of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and to walk with individuals from around Tampa Bay.”
Walk MS is a charity walk series that takes place in more than 550 locations all over the United States. The events team up friends, loved-ones and co-workers to change the world for those affected by MS. Each year, 300,000 people participate in Walk MS events across America to help create a world free of MS.
“We are so appreciative of all the individuals, businesses and organizations who come out to be a part of our society’s mission,” said Mary Healey, development manager for the Mid-Florida Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. “We are more than an organization, we are a movement united in our collective power to do something about MS and end this disease forever. Through our MS Walk events, we are getting closer to that ultimate goal.”
UMA’s involvement with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is one of the many service projects and outreach initiatives in which the institution participates each year. For more details about UMA’s involvement in the community, visit https://www.ultimatemedical.edu/about/community-outreach/.
