A National Small Business Week event
TAMPA (March 16, 2017) – The Florida SBDC at University of South Florida will host Scott Algeier, founder, president and CEO of cybersecurity consulting firm Conrad, Inc., as the opening keynote speaker at the 30th Annual Government Small Business Conference. The conference will be held Friday, May 5, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Holiday Inn Westshore, Tampa.

Algeier works at the intersection of cybersecurity policy and operations. He is also the executive director of the Information Technology – Information Sharing and Analysis Center (IT-ISAC). He is the IT-ISAC’s principal spokesperson, representing the organization to the public, senior leadership at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Congress and international organizations.
Conrad, Inc. provides strategic policy and business consulting services to businesses and not for profit organizations focused on cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection.
Algeier engages senior level policy makers in industry and government, domestically and internationally, on behalf of his clients. This includes direct engagement in the development of the nation’s most significant domestic cybersecurity and CIP policies and operational plans.
Scott also serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the IT Sector Coordinating Council, a STARS mentor at MACH37™, America’s premier market-centric cybersecurity accelerator, and a mentor at Austin, TX, cybersecurity incubator Manifest. He also served as vice chair of the National Council of ISACs and as industry chair of the IT Sector Risk Assessment Committee, which developed the first ever public-private risk assessment of critical IT functions.
Previously, Algeier was manager for homeland security at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, where he coordinated the U.S. Chamber’s critical infrastructure protection, cyber security and disaster management public policy initiatives. While in this position, Scott served as a member of the Information Sharing Study Group of the President’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council.
