ST. PETERSBURG, FL (March 13, 2017) – The City of St. Petersburg Water Resources Department wants residents to see what is being done — and what challenges lie ahead — as we move toward another “wet-season” here in Tampa Bay. To inform St. Petersburg’s citizens and provide education on the day-to-day operations at the city’s wastewater treatment plants, open houses and public tours have been planned at all of the city’s treatment facilities from 9 am- noon, this Saturday, March 18.
Tours usually take about 45 minutes to complete. Citizens wishing to tour the facilities are encouraged to wear comfortable closed-toe shoes and avoid flip-flops or high heels.
Guests to these facilities should be aware they are visiting working industrial utility plants and are covered by applicable federal laws regarding safety and Homeland Security. While the facilities are not ADA accessible, reasonable accommodations will be made for all to experience the tours.
Limited parking is available onsite at all facilities.
