(Tampa, FL – March 13, 2017) Food Network celebrity chef George Stella will be cooking up low carb Anaheim Shrimp Scampi with Spaghetti Squash and Plant City Strawberry Shortcake Martinis at 1 and 3 p.m. during the Taste of New Tampa & Wesley Chapel, Mar. 18. He’ll hand out tastes, sign books and talk to his many paleo, ketogenic and low carb fans. Stella lives in Orlando, FL and founded “Kids in the Kitchen” sponsored locally by Publix. His newest cookbook sold out on HSN within days. Stella has been featured on national television networks and shows such as “Dr Oz,” ABC’s “The View,” CBS “48 Hours,” “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider.” More on George Stella at www.stellastyle.com.
The Taste of New Tampa & Wesley Chapel definitely will be the coolest ticket in town on Mar. 18. There will be fun for kids, fabulous food, beer, wine and the entertainment will be very fine. The event will run:
Taste of New Tampa & Wesley Chapel
noon to 4 p.m.
Florida Hospital Center Ice
3173 Cypress Ridge Blvd.
Wesley Chapel, FL 33544
Proceeds from the Taste will go to area nonprofits supported by the Rotary Club of New Tampa. “The Taste is more than foodie heaven, it’s philanthropic. Our 65 members raise and donate about $40,000 per year to our community through the Taste and the Wiregrass Wobble Turkey Trot. High school students will benefit from scholarships through the Greater Wesley Chapel Chamber of Commerce,” said Karen Frashier, a New Tampa Rotarian and chair of this year’s Taste. The Rotary Club of New Tampa has raised and donated more than $1 million to charities since its founding in 1995.
We have more than 48 restaurants booked as well as an adult beverage section with wine and craft beers on tap. There’s a kid’s activity section, and entertainers will be on stage from noon until 4 p.m. Florida Hospital Center Ice will even have a skating rink open for those who want to try out the ice. The entertainment line-up includes the “Khakis,” a very good local teen cover band, the Bob Thompson Trio and the New Tampa Players.
Many Wesley Chapel Chamber members have stepped up to sponsor this event because of its 24-year history as the area’s premier community event. You’ll find the sponsor list at www.tasteofnewtampa.org/sponsors.html/
Special Note: Ciccio Cali is hosting a fundraiser and early ticket pick-up & sale for us on Wednesday, Mar. 15, 4-8 p.m. Ciccios will donate 10% of the meal price for everyone mentions the Taste that night.
