Tampa, Fla. – (March 10, 2017) – Hillel Academy Tampa has appointed Wendy Leigh to the position of director of development and community relations.
In her new role, Leigh is responsible for raising awareness, increasing enrollment and spreading the word about this historic and impressive school.

There is no better proof of this than our recent addition of the outstanding Wendy Leigh as director of development and community relations,” said Interim Head of School Gordon R. Rode. “With her many years of experience in marketing and development in the Tampa Bay area, she will direct the branding of Hillel’s greatness, where excellence is our tradition!”
For much of her professional life, Leigh has devoted herself to education. She holds degrees in both education (Columbia College, Missouri) and theater (University of South Florida). She taught for seven years in the Hillsborough County school District, at Chamberlain and Hillsborough High school, as well as Drama in the Bennington College summer program in Vermont for three summers. She also served as vice president of education at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Tampa for 10 years. While serving as vice president of education there, she was proud to have brought the organization to full accreditation status with SACS CASI in 2012, as well as spearheading the center-wide diversity initiative.
