Tampa Dad’s Using College Basketball to Raise Money For School

March 11, 2017 by Post

A consortium of fathers in the Tampa area have united to raise money for the children’s school. The innovative bunch have named themselves “A Group of Random Dads.” They have set up an online basketball pool for the next Men’s NCAA Tournament which starts this week. Fifty percent of the money collected goes to prizes and the remaining 50% will go to underfunded school programs such as athletics.

The group hopes to raise about $1,000 from this event and are optimistic that it will spread through the community leading to future similar fundraisers. The groups leader sees this initiative is very scalable and could have thousands of participants.

You too can join in the fun by visiting their Facebook page for signup instructions.
