Sarasota County urges community to sign up for CodeRED alert system

March 6, 2017 by Post

SARASOTA COUNTY – Sarasota County is encouraging property owners, both year-round and seasonal, to sign up for the free CodeRED alert notification system. The CodeRED system provides phone and text message alerts to property owners about important issues in their neighborhood.

“Getting accurate and fast information on an event in your neighborhood can save you time, money and possibly even your life,” said Paula Parsons Grubb, of Sarasota County Public Utilities. “The free CodeRED system can alert you to evacuations, severe weather warnings, water and sewer service interruptions, road closures, Amber Alerts and more.”

Registration is free, and Sarasota County does not share the information with private third-party vendors.

For more information, call the Sarasota County Contact Center at 941-861-5000 or visit www.scgov.net, where you can sign up for this free service under the emergency services tab.

Sarasota County prohibits discrimination in all services, programs or activities.
