SOUTHWEST FLORIDA – Michael Neal, a land development manager at Neal Communities (NealCommunities.com), the area’s largest and most established, locally owned and operated private builder, was recognized by Professional Builder in the magazine’s annual list of 40 Under 40 leaders in its March 2017 issue.
Professional Builder received more than 200 nominations this year before narrowing the field to 40. The 2017 class of 11 women and 29 men represent all regions of the U.S. The 40 Under 40 Award winners are chosen by the magazine’s editors and celebrate exceptional individuals who have distinguished themselves by their career achievement and service to their professions and communities.
Since 2011, Professional Builder has been honoring the next generation of leaders in the home building industry. These rising stars come from any field related to residential new construction, including home building, design, interior design, architecture and sustainable development.
“I look forward each year to the selection process of the 40 Under 40 honorees,” says Editorial Director Denise Dersin. “The program’s winners are incredibly inspiring; they are among the most accomplished young home building industry leaders in the nation, and many have achieved a great deal in their communities as well as in their businesses.”
Neal has been working in the family business in various capacities since age 14 and is well versed in the homebuilding industry. Since joining the company full time in 2013, Neal has successfully managed $14 million in land development operations, delivering over 250 lots for potential homebuyers. As the land development manager at Neal Communities, he helps with land development, customer satisfaction, land acquisition and construction.
“We are very proud of Michael and his leadership,” said Pat Neal, CEO and chairman of the board at Neal Communities. “With his persistence and dedication to perfecting procedures, Neal Communities has created a positive customer satisfaction experience that plays a daily part in the company’s culture. Michael helped create that.”
He has managed budget tolerances on three key projects, including Villa Amalfi, Indigo and The Estuary, and oversaw the implementation of a cost-database management system. He also manages the construction of the model homes and land development of The Estuary, an exclusive enclave community in Bradenton with just 50 homes.
On the construction side, Neal has helped with the master-planned communities of Grand Palm and Central Park, where he helped build homes from start to finish. In the area of land acquisition, Neal compiles strategic reports on new markets for Neal Communities.
Neal earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College.
