Clearwater, FL – February 28, 2017 – A caregiver professional at Home Helpers of Clearwater has been named a finalist for the national Exceptional Caregiver Award. Doreen Bishop was nominated by colleagues and the families of those she serves for exceptional dedication to her clients and for the example she provides of compassionate service.
“Doreen exemplifies our mission of being like family when family can’t be there,” said Debbie Humphrey, owner of Home Helpers Clearwater. “We’re proud to have her on our team and to honor her service to her clients and our agency.”
Her clients seem to agree. She received a nomination from family members of her current client. “Doreen’s compassion is always and constant. It is her nature. Doreen cares for my mother the way I wish I could. I work full time, but do not feel a moment’s guilt because I know Doreen is caring for my mother,” said Alicia, the daughter of a current client. “Doreen is an angel that walks with us. I speak for my six brothers and myself. We rest easier knowing she is looking over our mother,” Alicia also said.
“Home Helpers Clearwater had another Exceptional Caregiver nomination who deserves recognition, and we are proud to have her on our team. Amity Dever was nominated by a current client and placed as a semi-finalist, “stated Debbie Humphrey. “Amity is an outstanding caregiver because she truly loves and cares about me and my needs. Her caring and love has not only helped me deal with my physical ailments, but she has also healed my broken heart,” said Louise, her current client.
The Exceptional Caregiver of the Year Award is presented in May to one caregiver professional who best exemplifies Home Helpers mission to “be the extended family when the family can’t be there.” Finalists are selected from more than 600 communities nationwide. Individuals are nominated by colleagues and the families they serve. The award will be presented at the Home Helpers National Conference May 1-4 in San Diego.
