What: Southeastern Guide Dogs is holding another tail-wagging, family-friendly Walkathon, their biggest fundraiser of the year, and this year marks the 31st anniversary. Come see the excitement as thousands of participants lace up their shoes, grab their dogs’ leashes, and head out to support a worthwhile cause. All 2017 Walkathons are presented by Publix and Publix PAWSs, a free Publix program for pet parents.
What to expect: Family-and dog-friendly atmosphere with local sponsors, food, shopping, music, crowds, four-legged friends, and extensive opportunities for vivid imagery and dynamic camera appeal. Walkathons are a 3K, noncompetitive walk.
Why: Southeastern Guide Dogs, a 501(c)3 non-profit, relies on the generosity of the community to provide extraordinary guide dogs, service dogs, and services at no charge to the visually impaired and veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder.
