GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa will host its 1st golf outing on Monday, April 3rd, at the prestigious Avila Golf and Country Club for an inspiring day at the links. GiGi’s Playhouse is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organizationGiGi’s Playhouse Tampa is expected to open in 2017 following the national non-profit organization’s proven sustainable model offering results driven programs. GiGi’s Playhouse is the ONLY international network of Down syndrome achievement centers, changing lives through free, therapeutic and educational programs for individuals of all ages, families and communities. GiGi’s Playhouse makes a lifetime commitment to support and empower families from diagnosis to adulthood, build confidence and send a global message of acceptance for all. There are currently 31 Playhouses in the U.S. and Mexico. Tampa will be the 3rd Florida location.
Surviving completely on donor funds, the GiGi’s Playhouse organization breaks down barriers and changes the way the world sees individuals with Down syndrome by fostering acceptance and hope for everyone. GiGi’s Playhouse is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization founded in 2003 by 2016 CNN Hero Nancy Gianni after the birth of her daughter GiGi.
GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa has the opportunity to impact the lives of hundreds and hundreds of local families. In fact, local statistics based on national population formulas suggests that there are 3400 individuals living with Down syndrome in the Tri-County area (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco Counties).
Upon opening our doors, GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa will offer one-on-one math and literacy tutoring, signature programs that will unleash potential; to address cognitive impairment, curriculum and materials customized to the unique learning style of individuals with Down syndrome. Therapeutic based programs will build strength fitness based programs, address low muscle tone, advance gross and fine motor skills and speech impairment and encourage social skills. Programs for adults will empower generations of a trained workforce in the career training center programs.
