Davenport, FL (Feb. 19, 2017) – Central Florida’s Visitor Information Center (VIC) will celebrate the game of baseball with its 10th Annual Spring Training Celebration day on Saturday, February 25, 2017. This FREE, family-friendly event will take place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., featuring prize giveaways, a batting cage and a pitching booth with speed timer. The VIC will be giving away a limited number of commemorative event T-shirts, to the first visitors once the event begins at 10 a.m. (one per person, while supplies last). Attendees will have the chance to register for two grand prize drawings: one for four (4) tickets to see the Tigers play a Spring Training game at Joker Marchant Stadium and the other for a game-worn Tigers jersey. There will also be drawings for a pair of LEGOLAND Florida Resort tickets, two (2) pairs of tickets to Bok Tower Gardens as well as a pair of passes for a premier Airboat Nature Tour, compliments of Alligators Unlimited. In addition, visitors who bring canned goods (for donation to local food banks) will have the chance to enter a special drawing for a $50 gift card. Attendees will receive one free LEGOLAND® Florida Resort or Bok Tower Gardens ticket for each one (of the same) purchased at CFVIC on the day of the event. Note: this “buy one, get one” special on tickets is limited to the first 100 tickets sold. CFVIC attraction ticket prices are already discounted, making this an especially attractive offer.
Fans can view baseball themed exhibits and memorabilia, which will be on display February 20 – 28, and will be able to pick up the latest information on the 2017 Spring Training season such as schedules and Spring Training guides. The Detroit Tigers are celebrating their 81st Spring Training season at TigerTown in Lakeland, extending the longest-standing relationship between a major league team and a current Spring Training host city. The 2017 spring season marks the club’s 52nd consecutive season of exhibition play at the newly renovated Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium.
