TAMPA, Fla. — Play is a child’s work! — and The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County (ELCHC) is hosting the biggest play date in town! You don’t want to miss it.
On Sunday, March 12, 2017 families are invited to attend the Hillsborough Day of Play at Al Lopez Park from 10 am to 3 pm. This countywide, free event focuses on play as a vital part of a child’s early development. Play is the tool that children use to learn about the world and society. Through play, their social and cognitive needs can be met and developed. It’s how children interact with the world and create experiences to understand society and human interaction.
“This event is the biggest celebration of play in the area,” said ELCHC CEO Dr. Steve Knobl. “The Coalition has planned this event with the help and support of its partner agencies and our local early learning programs and professionals. Parents and families will see the true power of play as an early learning tool that they can put into action at home and enjoy a great family day out at the same time.”
There will also be music, characters, and countless games and activities lead by local early learning professionals and family centered agencies and organizations. Attendees will also enjoy a full lineup of family friendly stage entertainment highlighted with an appearance by HOT101.5’s radio personalities Holly and Miguel! Food trucks will be on hand with lots of delicious food choices for purchase – including healthy options.
Embrace the power of play, revisit your childhood and bring your family out for a glorious afternoon at the Hillsborough Day of Play.
