Brooksville & Spring Hill, Florida (February 15, 2017) – The Hernando County Fine Arts Council will again present its very popular “Art in the Park” on Saturday, March 11, from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday, March 12, from 10 am to 4 pm at Tom Varn Park, 306 Darby Lane, Brooksville, Florida 34601 (located on SR 50 just west of US 19 North).
Art in the Park is a celebration of arts and crafts featuring original artwork by over 100 fine art and craft exhibitors. There will be entertainment throughout the celebration with a special appearance by the Hernando Symphony Orchestra performing Pops In the Park on Saturday, March 11 from 2 to 3:30 pm. The public is invited to bring their chairs and sit under the beautiful oaks.
Art in the Park features a juried art show that attracts over 100 local, state, and national fine art and craft exhibitors competing for $4,000 in prize money. There will also be a juried student art show featuring over 300 works of art from children in elementary school through college level. Families are encouraged to visit the free children’s art activity tent. Art in the Park is a family friendly event that also includes a festival food court so bring your appetite.
Admission is free. There is a suggested donation of $5 for parking.
