Access Health Physicians, LLC, announces the development of a unique UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE PLATFORM (UHP), the components of which can be linked to a wide range of services and provide any physician group, Accountable Care Organization (ACO) or managed care group with a fully integrated healthcare infrastructure that links all avenues needed. This is a physician- and patient-centered approach integrating various activities from provider profile management, hospital privileges, coding, billing, analytics, reporting, and cognitive computing into one system; incorporating everything providers need to best treat patients. This program includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Provider profile management
Primary source verification – a feature that allows the user to verify that data provided by a provider is actually true.
Patient profile management
Claims management including each encounter, coding, auditing, and billing
For the use of ACO’s it also includes quality, utilization and outcomes.
What is unique about the Universal Healthcare Platform?
Unlike most Information Technology (IT) systems, the UHP software is built by healthcare professionals. Most systems are built by IT professionals with input from healthcare providers. This platform is totally physician-driven and not technology-driven. The system has the ability to enhance, measure and analyze clinical knowledge, case management, practice and staff development, ACO operations and managed care reporting. It can also manage claims and coding together.
Driven by physician needs
Physicians require simplicity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
“Physicians don’t like complexity,” said Pariksith Singh, MD, CEO of Access Health Care and the individual who is driving this program. “Physicians do not want a patient to just sit there and watch their doctor operating machines. They want their physician to spend time with the patient’s healing. All the physicians want to do is simply press a button. This program makes it that simple,” he added.
In developing the program, the IT technicians and Access Health Care Physicians’ team let the physician define what he or she thinks is best for the patient. No IT team on its own can necessarily define what constitutes a simple interface for the physician. This program will be able to allow physicians’ office staff who were once doing 20 claims a day to do 120 claims a day. Physicians’ staff will no longer get slowed down by IT.
“The goal is to allow physicians to do what they are best suited to do – spend time with their patients and not be cyberspaced-out,” said Dr. Singh. The Healthcare Information Platform is an ecosystem able to seamlessly integrate with the latest electronic medical records systems (EMR) that are currently in use throughout healthcare, but this infrastructure will allow productivity to shoot up. The software’s goal is to send clean claims – ones which are valid, reducing claims rejection from a 40% rejection rate down to 0.6%.
The program is a result of one and a half years of collaboration between physicians and IT professionals. It has currently been tested over the last six months.
The Universal Healthcare Platform includes a gateway, which is a unique feature that helps review claims, quality and utilization data instantaneously. Typically, a large practice’s challenge is that different providers within the organization have software that are not communicating with each other. The UHP will allow all formats to become inter-operable.
The Claims Gateway component has been released this month.
Claims Gateway offers the solution to physicians, group practices and IPAs, with following features:
- Member Management
- Claim Filing
- Claim Submission
- Claim Tracking
- Claim Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Claims Processing
- Claim Validation
- Notifications & Reminders
- Electronic Data Interchange Generation & Translation
In the future
Eventually the system will allow interaction between voice and gestures. Physicians and patients will be able to interact through the system. Future releases will discuss that capability.
