OSPREY, FL (January 31, 2017) Join Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast for a special presentation by Jesse Jou, visiting director with the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, on Wednesday, February 8 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Jou will lead a discussion of what theater directors do and how they take a play from “the page to the stage,” using examples from the upcoming FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training production of Adam Bock’s delightfully theatrical romantic comedy, The Drunken City.

Jesse Jou is a New York-based freelance theater director, where he works primarily on new or contemporary plays. His work has been seen at the Lark Play Development Center; the New York International Fringe Festival; The Kitchen Theatre Co. (Ithaca, NY); and the Yale Cabaret. He was the Artistic Director of the 2010 Yale Summer Cabaret and served as the Staff Repertory Director of The Acting Company. He is an alumnus of the Cherry Lane Mentor Project, the Drama League’s Directors Project, the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, and the Civilians R&D Group. Jou has an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.
