SARASOTA, Fla. — On Saturday, Feb. 4, the Florida Solar Energy Industries Association is hosting the Run for the Sun 5K at the Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota.
Race-day registration starts at 6 a.m., with the 5K beginning at 7:15 a.m. Competitors in the 5K will receive a custom-designed t-shirt, chip timing, finisher’s medal for the first 300 finishers and awards for top finishers.
Potential participants can register at Active.com and receive $5 off the entry fee of $30 with the online code Media. Parking for this event is free to all participants.
The Florida Solar Energy Industries Association (FlaSEIA) partnered with various organizations, and through a grassroots and social media campaign, exposed the truth and defeated Amendment 1 on the November ballot. FlaSEIA’s mission is to continue to educate the general public of the benefits of going solar and to raise funds to continue its growth in the state.
